Component Main Features
Barcode Fonts No special barcode fonts are required ... SP Barcode uses a proprietary ActiveX from Mabry Software which generates high quality barcode images. Note that many other barcode writers require the user to purchase and install special barcode fonts which can cost over $100 – SP Barcode does not.
Databases SP Barcode is designed primarily as a barcode printing program working in conjunction with our SabrePoint POS. However, it can very easily be configured to be used with any inventory database running under MS Access 2000 (SabrePoint is not required). Additional database formats will be allowed for in future.
Label information SP Barcode can print all or any of:
  • Barcodes
  • Normal prices, with and/or without tax
  • Special prices, with and/or without tax
  • Fixed text information such as your company name
  • Dynamic text information such as product name (optionally linked to your database)
  • Human-readable version of barcode

The user can configure SP Barcode to provide customised barcode/label prints which should be suitable for almost all applications.

Database Editor A database editor is available which shows all items in your linked database. You may edit each item, or delete or even insert entire records.

This editor may also be used for any MS Access 97 database table in accordance with the path and table name set up on the Settings screen.
Screen Resolution
SP Barcode is optimised for screen display resolution of 1024x768. Alternative resolutions are also acceptable; however print previews may not show print layout accurately.
Barcode Styles

SP Barcode produces high quality barcode images for many common barcode types. Currently supported are:

Code 2 of 5
Interleaved 2 of 5
Code 3 of 9
Codabar (Rationalized)
Extended Code 3 of 9
Code 128-A

EAN-13
EAN-8
PostNet
ANSI 3 of 9
ANSI 3 of 9 (extended)
Code 128 (auto)

NOTE: Users should trial the software as much as is necessary to ensure it meets your needs, prior to registration. While we are confident that the use of the ActiveX control will produce barcode images of high quality and reliability, we have not tested output images with all barcode readers available.

Printing
SP Barcode prints to your default Windows printer. If you wish to use an alternative printer, you will need to configure this as the default (under Windows Printer Settings).

SP Barcode can be configured to print multiple barcodes across and down a page or roll. Barcode groups can be previewed on screen. Layout, orientation, color and size should be adjusted prior to batch printing.
Record filtering The user may select data ranges by criteria.
